{"id":718,"date":"2009-05-01T00:13:54","date_gmt":"2009-05-01T07:13:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/?p=718"},"modified":"2009-05-01T00:13:54","modified_gmt":"2009-05-01T07:13:54","slug":"the-end-of-a-long-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/2009\/05\/01\/the-end-of-a-long-day\/","title":{"rendered":"The End of a Long Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am happy to say I have the pleasure of writing the post from the comfort of my own home.\u00a0 I was quite surprised this afternoon when the volunteer told me it was okay if I brought the car around.\u00a0 I had to ask him to repeat himself because I was sure he had gotten something wrong.\u00a0 I was expecting to be told that I could go and see Angie; the doctor had even said he thought she&#8217;d be spending the night.\u00a0 Turns out, the nurses just asked Angie what she wanted to do and Angie said she wanted to go home, so we did.<\/p>\n<p>Angie looked quite pale when she came out to the car, but once we got home and she could sit comfortably, things were better.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sorry I didn&#8217;t post earlier, but I was busy taking care of my sweet wife.<\/p>\n<p>I nearly had a fiasco at the pharmacy with her pain meds.\u00a0\u00a0 I went to Rite-Aid at 8:30, just 30 minutes before they close.\u00a0 The pharmacist told me that they were out of Percoset and that I would have to hurry to the other Rite-Aid in town to get there on time.\u00a0 He was very apologetic and wanted to make sure I made it before they closed, so he called ahead to give them the heads-up.\u00a0 He gave me the phone number and sent me on my way.\u00a0 Angie was due for her next dose and I didn&#8217;t want to risk having to go all night without any.\u00a0 I briskly walked to my car and was pulling out of the parking lot with my cell phone to my ear when I saw a man in a white coat running towards the car.\u00a0 It was the pharmacist chasing me down to tell me that they had a generic brand he had forgotten to check for.\u00a0 We went back in and he filled the prescription while I waited.\u00a0 I was very grateful; I wasn&#8217;t sure where the other Rite-Aid was and I would have felt terrible if I had gotten lost trying to find it and had to go home without any meds for Angie.\u00a0 I realized that the pharmacist could have easily let it slide and let me drive away.\u00a0 There would have been no way for me to find out that he had something he could have given me.\u00a0 It is behavior like that that makes me want to frequent a store.\u00a0 Perhaps we should switch back from our mail-order prescriptions and get them at Rite-Aid.\u00a0 They certainly deserve it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am happy to say I have the pleasure of writing the post from the comfort of my own home.\u00a0 I was quite surprised this afternoon when the volunteer told me it was okay if I brought the car around.\u00a0 I had to ask him to repeat himself because I was sure he had gotten [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_options":[]},"categories":[21,8,13],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_shortlink":"https:\/\/wp.me\/p8WrW-bA","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack_likes_enabled":false,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/718"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=718"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/718\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":719,"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/718\/revisions\/719"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=718"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=718"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=718"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
