{"id":548,"date":"2008-10-20T13:34:05","date_gmt":"2008-10-20T20:34:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/?p=548"},"modified":"2008-10-20T13:38:39","modified_gmt":"2008-10-20T20:38:39","slug":"letter-to-the-editor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/2008\/10\/20\/letter-to-the-editor\/","title":{"rendered":"Letter to the Editor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week I voted &#8220;Yes&#8221; to the Tri-Valley Herald&#8217;s online poll, &#8220;Do you support Proposition 8?&#8221;\u00a0 In addition to the poll, there was a link to submit a 50-100 word response to the editor as to why or why not.\u00a0 I put my two cents in, emailed the poll link to several friends, and proceeded to forget about it.\u00a0 Yesterday, though, a friend in my ward named Sandy Guyman approached me before Sacrament Meeting and said, &#8220;Congratulations!\u00a0 You&#8217;re famous!&#8221;\u00a0 &#8230;I had to admit, I had no idea what she was talking about, so she laughed and said that the Herald published my comments in Saturday&#8217;s Letters to the Editor!\u00a0 I&#8217;ve submitted so many responses and comments on various sites over the past couple of weeks that I couldn&#8217;t even remember what I had written in that case!\u00a0 Since we don&#8217;t take that paper, Sandy kept it for me and her husband brought it over to us last night.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t seem to find it anywhere on the Herald&#8217;s website.\u00a0 They have a page of links for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insidebayarea.com\/trivalleyherald\/letterstotheeditor\" target=\"_blank\">Letters to the Editor<\/a>, but there is no link for October 18ths letters.\u00a0 Anyway, here is what i wrote:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Various ethnicities receive &#8216;civil rights&#8217; because the distinctions of race are completely innate and beyond their control.\u00a0 The choice of whether to act or not act on homosexual passions or appetities may be difficult, but it IS a choice.\u00a0 . . .
