{"id":1224,"date":"2013-10-31T11:30:54","date_gmt":"2013-10-31T18:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/?p=1224"},"modified":"2013-10-31T11:30:54","modified_gmt":"2013-10-31T18:30:54","slug":"going-home-maybe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/31\/going-home-maybe\/","title":{"rendered":"Going Home (Maybe)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Lui, Angie&#8217;s primary cardiologist, just stopped by to see Angie and make sure she&#8217;s ready to go home.\u00a0 Dr. Rogers gets to make the final call, but having Dr. Lui saying she&#8217;s ready is a good sign.\u00a0 We think that we&#8217;ll probably get discharged this afternoon or evening.\u00a0 Angie is thrilled.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Rogers et al. came by about an hour after Dr. Lui and checked in.\u00a0 He said that they would come back in a couple of hours and go on a walk with her while monitoring her O2 levels.\u00a0 If they like what they see, they&#8217;ll let her go home today.\u00a0 That is very encouraging.\u00a0 Already, I&#8217;ve been on two practice walks with Angie \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Once we get home, we&#8217;ll still have lots of work to do.\u00a0 Angie will need supervision for at least a week or two.\u00a0 Thanks to the <em>very<\/em> generous people who have offered to donate some vacation time to me to help take care of Angie, I should be able to stay with her.\u00a0 I should be able to work from home and get in half days so I don&#8217;t burn through other people&#8217;s vacation any more than I have to.\u00a0 Occasionally, I may need to go in for a few hours, so if anyone would like to come play nurse and visit Angie for a bit, that would be very helpful.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve both been overwhelmed by the love and support from everyone during this whole ordeal.\u00a0 Thank you so very much!\u00a0 I wanted to especially thank Brandon and Mary, who opened their home for me (less than 2 miles from the hospital).\u00a0 I can&#8217;t imagine having to have had to commute on top of spending very long (and worrisome) days here at the hospital.\u00a0 I will be forever grateful for your incredible kindness.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully my next post will be the news that we&#8217;re packing up to go.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Lui, Angie&#8217;s primary cardiologist, just stopped by to see Angie and make sure she&#8217;s ready to go home.\u00a0 Dr. Rogers gets to make the final call, but having Dr. Lui saying she&#8217;s ready is a good sign.\u00a0 We think that we&#8217;ll probably get discharged this afternoon or evening.\u00a0 Angie is thrilled.
