{"id":1148,"date":"2013-10-23T14:35:13","date_gmt":"2013-10-23T21:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/?p=1148"},"modified":"2013-10-24T00:45:51","modified_gmt":"2013-10-24T07:45:51","slug":"catheterization-finished","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.angieandjim.com\/blog\/2013\/10\/23\/catheterization-finished\/","title":{"rendered":"Catheterization Finished"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They just brought Angie back to our room.\u00a0 I thought I&#8217;d have to go wait outside the recovery area, but they brought her right back to her bed.\u00a0 She&#8217;s trying to sleep now since she isn&#8217;t supposed to get up for 4 hours after the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The cath went reasonably well.\u00a0 Her pressures were really high, but they found lots of fluid around her right lung, and after draining it, the pressures improved.\u00a0 Not yet to normal, but improved.  They took out an additional 1.5 L of fluid during the procedure.\u00a0 The catheterization revealed that her heart circuit is working properly.\u00a0 The heart function is below normal, but isn&#8217;t &#8220;bad&#8221; (according to Dr. Lui).\u00a0 They didn&#8217;t do any sort of repair while they were in there, because everything looked fine.\u00a0 However, they still haven&#8217;t identified why the fluid is accumulating, but they have a few more things to check into.<\/p>\n<p>During the ultrasound this morning, they saw some abnormalities in her liver.\u00a0 They want to do a CT scan to investigate further, but not today.\u00a0 It isn&#8217;t scheduled yet, but I presume we&#8217;ll be tackling that tomorrow sometime.\u00a0 The rest of today is devoted to resting and recovering from the day&#8217;s events.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for your prayers and concern.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They just brought Angie back to our room.\u00a0 I thought I&#8217;d have to go wait outside the recovery area, but they brought her right back to her bed.\u00a0 She&#8217;s trying to sleep now since she isn&#8217;t supposed to get up for 4 hours after the procedure.
