So much debate about who to vote for in our next Presidential election! They are still so far away; it’s amazing how high emotions are already running. And such a variety of people and backgrounds on the docket! I have some ideas about who I’ll vote for, but I haven’t decided for sure yet. Of course, a part of me wants to vote for Mitt Romney, but I have also been interested in, and impressed with, some of the others running for office: Mike Huckabee, for instance, and (I know I’ll get in trouble with certain people for this) Barak Obama. I’m interested to know what our friends and family are thinking: Are you planning on voting (you should!) and, if so, have you already picked your candidate? Or are any of you, like me, glad that we still have plenty of time to decide?

On a lighter note, maybe we should all vote for Gladys Knight: Then we’ll have our first female, black, Mormon President all in one! …though, I don’t think “Gospel” counts as a political party.

Put me down for Gladys Knight!! Actually, I am also quite relived that we have quite a bit more time to decide. I wish Mike Huckabee had a better chance. He’s like a breath of fresh air. I thought I would be more excited about Mitt Romney running, but it turns out he seems to me to be like most politicians – wishy washy.

What makes me the most sad, is that each time we do this it gets more and more like a contest to see who has the least amount of dirty laundry – so to speak. Each candidate’s purpose, it seems, is to dig up trash on the others and publicize it. Furthermore, it seems like no one wants to take a stand. Why won’t Mitt just come out and talk about the Church. Why does he downplay it so much? I think Americans want someone who is different, with refreshing new ideas. The last thing we need is more Clintons!!

Gladys Knight for President! I’d vote for her. But then she’d probably have to give up directing “Saints Unified Voices” for four years :(.

Ahem. As someone in a political science class…just kidding. I’m totally failing the class. But we have been discussing the electability of the candidates. My teacher says that Romney is by far the best choice from a managerial standpoint. Huckabee has been flying a bit under the radar but he’s a nightmare fiscally speaking. I’d totally vote for Obama- he knows what he believes in and that’s what’s driving his campaign, not mud-slinging at other candidates or anything. I don’t know if I agree with what he believes in or not, but I like him still. Hillary is a nightmare as well as Ron Paul.
